Capcom shuts down subsidiary
The development studio that created Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Steel Batalin
and God Hand closed down. Capcom, the main shareholder of Clover,
decided to shut it down.
In a press release, Capcom explained that Clover has met the goal of
developing unique and creative original home video game software, but
for promoting management resources in order to enhance the efficiency
of Capcoms’ development power, the administration board has decided to
close down the studio.

Microsoft knows a thing or two about design
The Good Design Awards are held in Japan every year. The awards are
meant to establish which product has the best design, covering a wide
range of
industries.
The Japanese jury ruled that this year’s award for the best design has
to go to Microsoft’s Xbox 360. Nintendo DS Lite, Game Boy Micro, Sony
PlayStation 2 and the PSP already won this award over the past years.

New skating multiplayer modes
New information about the upcoming game from Activision, Tony Hawk’s Project 8, have come out.
The information is about the multiplayer mode of the upcoming game.
As a throwback to earlier versions, the two-only player Horse and
Graffiti modes are back. In Graffiti mode, areas are tagged with your
skateboards’ color until another player manages to get a high enough
score to claim them.

This
week, the few hardcore PC gamers who already bought, played, and
finished Dark Crusade were treated to a tantalizing teaser. When
players complete their conquest of the planet Kronus in campaign mode
and the credits roll, the game cuts back to an outer-space shot of the
blue planet where all the action took place. Then the camera slowly
pans backward to reveal another dusty-looking planet that appears to be
wracked by warfare, with explosions popping up all across the surface.
The slow pan continues further along to show yet another, reddish
planet, where fighting also seems to be taking place. The screen goes
dark and in big block letters, "2007" appears.
