Official Xbox Magazine Awards
Gears of War and Halo 3 rule, and with no help from any naked girls
In a ceremony on Wednesday 14th March, the Official Xbox Magazine team announced their games of the year for 2007. The ceremony was a triple celebration, also marking the fifth year since the launch of Xbox and the fourth birthday of Xbox Live. Hey, the PS3 has its own magazine now, did you know? Yeah, only their magazine has an almost naked girl sitting on the toilet with her panties down and flushing the water
.
Anyway, while some prefer to promote their games with sex (quite
frankly I don’t mind Consoul Magazine’s idea, but don’t make it so damn
obvious) others actually promote their games and only their games. The
winners at the ceremony were Microsoft’s Gears of War, Take-Two’s The
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Atari’s Test Drive Unlimited, Eidos’s Lara
Croft Tomb Raider, Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 6 and Ubisoft’s
Rainbow Six Vegas.
Emma Parkinson, Assistant Publisher of Xbox 360: The Official Xbox
Magazine said: “The spread of winners just goes to show the variety and
quality of games that are available for Xbox 360. We wanted to
celebrate what’s been a brilliant year for Xbox 360, and the fifth
birthday seemed like the perfect opportunity.”
Steve Brown, Editor of Xbox 360: The Official Xbox Magazine also stated
that they’re “delighted by the number of excellent games that come out
for Xbox 360” and that “it was hard choosing from the nominees,”
although there was no questioning what the winners were. Official Xbox
Magazine readers also voted in the Most Wanted Game category while the
Readers’ Choice, was obviously Halo 3 followed by The Elder Scrolls IV:
Oblivion. That’s what a real gaming magazine is all about. And I’ll bet
they don’t have girls with toilet paper in their mouths presenting the
winner titles.
