God of War II is another violent and highly entertaining achievement for the action adventure genre, and it’s a fitting closeout to the PlayStation 2 era.
The Good: More of the gory, over-the-top action you’ve come to expect from this series; fantastically paced, with some ingenious puzzle designs; scale of some of the levels is unbelievably massive; superb graphics and sound; several more bosses than the first game.
The Bad: Combat is overly straightforward at times and still prone to button mashing; ending leaves you hanging.

If we’re to translate gameplay time between the 2 episodes, the figures don’t really add up
Everybody knows that Half Life 2 episode 1 had 4 hours of gameplay tops, yet Valve’s
Doug Lombardi says that ep. 1 had to offer around 6 hours of gameplay. Now, HL ep. 2 is getting closer and closer to the finish and the developers are trimming down the time for its release. But they assure fans that ep. 2 is going to be an 8 hour long game (single-player).

Sony’s rivals: ‘been there, done that.” OK then, why doesn’t everyone feel the same?
This year’s GDC was about many things, but mainly about Sony’s “PlayStation Home,” which is a fairly good idea to give PS3 users a social network and an avatar creation system. Something like this couldn’t go by just like that and it wasn’t only the press who had a say at this but also the rival companies, Nintendo and Microsoft. Yet, unlike the rest of the world who commented positively in regards to Sony’s new social service, the two rivals said they weren’t that impressed. In an interview with CVG, a Nintendo spokesman stated: "This is an example of Sony’s ‘Mii-too’ approach. Nintendo years ago considered and rejected the type of approach Sony is now taking."

Will Wright (the creator of Spore and The Sims) and Electronic Arts
have thought of a great idea to make a contribution in helping out developing countries. What they’re hoping to do is to distribute a free version of an open source version of the original SimCity for the $100 One Laptop Per Child’s XO computer. Whiu, saying all that got all the air out of my lungs. Now, where were we? Ah yes, the 100 dollar laptop.
