“Stan’s” in the UN
As of 2005, seven Central Asian nations with “stan” at the end of their names are members of the United Nations: Kazakhstan, Afganistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
