Martial Arts eBooks…

Hello,

I just thought I should drop a line about ebooks here, as I’ve recently seen few new ones…

Actually it is just a warning for the new-comers and beginners, again, be careful!. Be careful what you find on line and criticize what you see. Internet is not a bookstore and anyone with PC and digital camera can publish an ebook on line, unfortunatelly not everybody who do that should do it 🙁 My intention is not to stop from browsing for on line resources or to give certain titles and authors that I think are rubbish. I am not any certified authority 😉

That is why I will not say the name of the book about wrist locks I found on the Internet recently… The more experience you get the more capable of seeing errors you are. So I wouldn’t need to say anything to advanced students or masters seeing picture of “master” showing release from being held by attacker from behind on arms and bending to the back(!!!).

Anyway I guess that if you see ebook with pics taken in someone’s house and not in dojo, with TV instead of kami-za you know something smells fishy!

BTW, I am not touching here ebooks from series “A short guide to How to be a Ninja” as the above are weird mixtures. They are hard to be verified, and sometimes even harder to be treated seriously.

All in all there are some positive examples of martial arts resources “trawls” made by me on the Internet. I found an interesting ebook about karate including drawings of few kata and their interpretations. Also non-technical findings were very satisfying 🙂

Well, good luck in your researches but remember, nothing’s better than a real sensei giving you a real lesson on tatami.
